Maharashtar

WHAT IS ”MAHARASHTAR”?

Every year, Tarakanita I Senior High School holds a music and entertainment event that carries a noble mission.

This year, the mission is to spread the awareness of education amongst people in the world, especially Indonesia. We are carrying the aim through this, of what we hope to be a spectacular event, “MAHARASHTAR”.

”MAHARASHTAR” is taken from the word ”Maharashtra”, which is the name of the third most populous and largest state in India. Maharashtra is a very vibrant and colorful city with a very rich cultural and historical heritage. It is the center for tourism and celebrations in India, such as: Holi Festival and Diwali Festival. Situated on the Deccan plateau of India; the state has steep cliffs, numerous rivers cutting into the plateau, stretch of mountains and luscious forests.

Descendants of warrior tribes, Maharashtrians are very hard working and values education, making it one of the most developed and richest state in India. It has a very high literacy rate (at 77.27%) and numerous amounts of educational institutions.

This condition inspires us to implement the same thing in Indonesia through this charity event. Our hope is that through this event, people will be more aware of the importance of education, just like the people of Maharashtra. With a signicant change in the education area, Indonesia will undergo a massive development.

MAHARASHTAR, will feature a line up of popular musicians and guest stars yet to be revealed. This 1 day event will basically be a “mini Maharashtra” portrayal in Jakarta; complete with the unique culinary tastes, markets, festivals, Bollywood dances and music usually experienced by tourists there. After visiting MAHARASHTAR, people would feel as though they had just left the city of Maharashtra in India, completely inspired and more aware of the importance of education.

WELCOME ABOARD TO MAHARASHTAR, a travel destination guaranteed to blow you away.

WHEN AND WHERE?

Kindly wait for our next updates to find out!
